Detail Review

The Oceanic GEO 2 is small enough to be worn as a regular watch. It looks so simple and sporty looking dive computer but don’t under estimate its power it’s a feature rich dive watch.

For example, you can set 2 different gas mixes, and can switch easily between them underwater, this let you to inhale Air or Nitrox for your bottom gas, and then switch to an 80% or 100% O2 bottle on the way up.

The GEO 2 has two different conservative factors or you can select no conservative factor at all. You can also set a reminder for a deep stop for a specified time, it also has standard safety stop timer (5 meter/15 feet) which can be customize as per your likening, and the timer starts automatically when you’ve come close to 5 meter.

It has a nice feature, Oceanic dual algorithm, which allows you to adjust your computer to match your partner’s computer algorithm making a safer dive for everyone concerned.

The build quality of the Geo2.0 is extremely high, especially the Titanium case and nice rubber strap that can better fit on different dive suit sizes. It uses an LCD segment screen that shows the dive and decompression information in clear, easy to read digits.

A bar graph on either side of the central display shows the current ascent rate and also your nitrogen loading.

The Geo 2.0 is built to collect and hold a lot of your dives information – It stores your dives (up to 24 dives as per their manual) with or without dive time, maximum depth of your dive, date and time of dive, and water temperature.

The 4 push buttons (2 on both sides) allow straightforward navigation through the dive computer menu system, giving you control over various settings such as the algorithm, conservatism, deep stop functionality and a number of optional alarms and alerts you can set as per your needs.

The dive computer can be connected to your PC/Mac easily, once you are connected you can download the data on your local computer and you can analyze the data through easy to understand graph and stats.

Warranty

Oceanic Geo 2.0 provides a Lifetime warranty in the UK which protects the original owner against manufacturing defects and faults for the entire life of the dive computer!

However, to activate the warranty you will have to register your Oceanic Geo 2 Dive Computer and maintain the warranty year on year and you must service it annually only at authorized dealer, only then it is valid, this all at additional expense. Something we’d rather not have to deal with.
